Snow Policy
At our apartment communities, we strive to maintain safe and accessible conditions during winter weather. Please review our snow removal schedule and safety recommendations below to help navigate snowy and icy conditions:
Snow Removal Schedule
Weekdays:
- Less than 2 inches of snow: Plowing begins at 7:30 AM.
- More than 2 inches of snow: Plowing starts earlier at 5:30 AM.
- Mailbox areas and sidewalks: Cleared daily when snow exceeds 2 inches, so please do not park around mailboxes.
- Snowstorms of 8+ inches: Additional equipment will be deployed to expedite removal.
Weekends:
- Roads: Plowed for snowfalls of 3+ inches, starting at the same times as weekdays.
- Driveways and sidewalks: Cleared for snowfalls of 5+ inches.
- Shovels: Although we make every effort to keep the snow clear at all times; you may want to keep a shovel on hand for your convenience.
Resident Responsibilities
- Keep Your Heat On: Never turn your furnace off in cold weather or let the room temperature fall below 60°. If you are out of town, contact us to check your heat!
- Keep Walkways and Entryways Clear: Please ensure vehicles, trash bins, and other items are not obstructing walkways or entryways. Clear access allows our team to efficiently plow and maintain safe pathways for all residents.
- Safety Reminder: Despite our efforts to plow and salt, icy and snowy conditions may persist on sidewalks, parking lots, and roadways. For your safety:
- Walk with caution and always assume surfaces may be slippery.
- Take slow, small steps to maintain balance.
- Wear footwear with good traction to help prevent slips and falls.
SHADOW PINES Residents
To ensure efficient snow removal, please move your vehicles between 7 - 8 AM to allow plows to clear the parking areas thoroughly. Avoid parking in the areas noted in red on the map, as these are designated for snow dumping. Your cooperation helps keep our community safe and accessible during the winter season—thank you!
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping our community safe during winter weather!
